Five gracious local homes will open their doors on Sun., Dec. 3 to share the magic of the season. From the historic West Hill neighborhood to the Delaware/Ridgecrest estates, the Sugar Plum Tour of Gracious Homes will welcome visitors into some of the area’s finest historic and contemporary homes, lavishly decorated for the holidays. All proceeds from the tour will help support philanthropic programs of the Gay Community Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation.

On hand to greet tour goers at one tour home will be special guest Matt Fox, co-host of HGTV’s Room by Room. Matt’s newest show, Top 10 Holiday Countdown with Matt & Shari, premieres Nov. 25 on HGTV.

General admission tickets for the five-home tour are $25 and are available online at www.sugarplumtour.org, by phone at 330-376-8522 or at Angel Falls Coffee Co., 792 West Market Street in Akron. According to Kris Mikolajcyzk, co-chair for the 2006 Sugar Plum Tour, “This year’s patron party has already sold out and we encourage those who wish to attend the public tour to purchase their admissions soon.”

Patron-level admissions, offered first to past Sugar Plum tourists and GCEF fund supporters, sold out within minutes of going on sale Nov. 6. Those patrons will enjoy a tour of all five homes plus a festive patron party at The Anchorage, the spectacularly restored Merriman Road estate.
