GCEF ACCEPTS GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR 2006 GIVING CYCLE
Jul 13, 2006

The Gay Community Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation is currently accepting grant proposals from Akron-area nonprofit organizations. Funding is available for both existing and new programs that will positively impact local gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) communities and Greater Akron as a whole.
The Gay Community Endowment Fund strongly encourages collaborations between applicant organizations. The fund will award individual grants of up to $2,000. If two or more applicant organizations submit a collaborative grant, however, the grant review committee may consider requests with budgets greater than $2,000 if justified.
In 2005, the fund’s inaugural grant-giving year, four grants totaling $9,000 went to organizations impacting the GLBT community as well as Greater Akron.
Grant-seeking organizations should return 10 copies of the completed application to Akron Community Foundation on Friday, Oct. 13. To receive a copy of the grant application or for more information about making a gift to the Gay Community Endowment Fund, contact Akron Community Foundation at 330-376-8522 or visit the ACF website.
